The Director of Elections of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), Dr. Wilson Mahera has said that from tonight on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 the commission will begin receiving the results of the presidential elections from the states. Dr Mahera made the statement today while speaking to Mwananchi Digital about preparations for receiving, summarizing and announcing the results of the presidential operation at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Center (JNICC). "We will start receiving results from today and onwards so tomorrow we will be serious about receiving results from various areas and announcing them but the council results will be announced in the county." "The parliamentary results will be received and announced in the constituency and then they will send us here (JNICC) to summarize and announce again that a particular constituency has already had the results announced for the presidency," said Mahera. Dr. Mahera said he has already been satisfied with all the preparations to make the event a success after inspecting the facilities and venues that will be used by JNICC.
